Troocoo is delighted to partner with St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland to recruit this important Executive Officer role. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to one of the most respected community organisations in the country and to play a meaningful role in shaping services that directly support people in need across a large regional Diocese.
This role sits within the Leadership Team and is central to delivering the mission, values and community purpose of the Society. With a proud heritage and deep commitment to service, the organisation is seeking a values-aligned leader who brings strategic capability, strong community presence and a genuine passion for supporting members, volunteers and employees.
The Opportunity
As Executive Officer you will represent the Society across the Diocese and work closely with the Diocesan President and Central Council. You will guide local operations, retail excellence, lead service improvements and ensure the ongoing delivery of high quality and values-driven community support. The role involves significant leadership influence across a wide geographic region and requires a confident communicator who can connect deeply with members, volunteers, staff and community partners.
You will play a key strategic role in the planning and future development of the Diocese, including financial oversight, operational leadership and supporting the growth of both retail operations and services. You will engage with local government, community groups and internal stakeholders to ensure the Society’s mission is reflected in every aspect of service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Shape, contribute and implement strategic and operational plans for the Diocese
- Identify and lead future service and business development opportunities
- Support the growth of retail operations within the region for long-term sustainability
- Lead the development and writing of submissions and proposals that support the growth of the Society
- Guide retail operations to achieve a sustainable and mission aligned model
- Provide visionary and supportive leadership across the Diocese
- Mentor, guide and support employees and volunteers
- Build a positive, inclusive and values-centred workforce culture
- Collaborate with the State Leadership Team and fellow Executive Officers across Queensland
- Develop, manage and monitor annual budgets for the Diocese in partnership with key leaders and report on monthly performance against budget
- Oversee operational performance and ensure compliance across all areas
- Lead safe, effective and efficient management of Diocesan operations
- Support disaster response coordination when needed
- Build strong relationships with members, volunteers, staff and community partners
- Represent the Society with authenticity and integrity
- Engage with government and local organisations to strengthen community outcomes
- Provide high level support and advice to the Diocesan President and Diocesan Central Council
You will be a values-driven leader with a genuine connection to community service and the mission of St Vincent de Paul Society. You bring a collaborative leadership style, emotional intelligence and a commitment to delivering positive social outcomes.
You will ideally bring:
- Experience managing multi program operations within community or not for profit settings
- Experience managing a significant retail network
- Tertiary qualifications in Education, Business Management or related discipline
- A strong track record leading complex programs or regional operations
- Confident stakeholder engagement and networking skills
- Experience working with member-based and volunteer-based organisations
- A commitment to the values of compassion, respect, integrity, advocacy and courage
