Enterprise Architect - Infrastructure

Job description


Position Purpose

The Technology Strategy & Architecture section is part of the Technology & Digital Solutions branch within Unitywater which is responsible for the ‘Plan to Design’, ‘Implement to Handover’ and ‘Maintain to Renew’ phases of the technology lifecycle. The section works with business stakeholders to identify process improvements and translate business requirements into system changes and enhancements and to ensure strategic alignment.  In this position you will provide high quality information, guidance and advice to the Technology Strategy & Architecture Manager on technology architecture, solutions and innovation. As the Enterprise Infrastructure Architect, you will be responsible for participating in the development of the organisation’s Enterprise Infrastructure Architecture as well as designing infrastructure solutions in support business outcomes.

Capability Requirements
  • Proven experience to apply architectural frameworks and methods in developing and reviewing architectural blueprints and strategies that meet the strategic requirements of the business;
  • Ability to provide specialist advice, over a range of enterprise architecture topics influencing Technology planning and investment;
  • A “big picture” perspective, interested in the success of the business, success within the industry and application of best practises and next practises in the industry;
  • A blend of business acumen, large-scale Technology system know-how, governance and operations;
  • Knowledge and understanding of industry trends and technology;
  • Strong awareness and understanding of hardware, networks, software, technologies and applications; 
  • Strong technical skills, knowledge and active experience in designing, supporting and otherwise managing technology infrastructure such as Microsoft Windows Servers, Linux, MS SQL Server, VMware, LAN, WAN, Firewalls, Antivirus, Backup systems, Microsoft Azure (desirable), SIEM, and Integration Management platforms, Microsoft Office (O365), Exchange, Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP, CA;
  • Excellent communication skills and can explain complex technical issues in a way that non-technical people can understand;
  • Enjoys constantly expanding their knowledge base, identifying and being able to form opinions on emerging trends and technologies;
  • Highly developed written, interpersonal and negotiation skills including the proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of internal and external customers, staff members and work units;
  • Able to manage multiple activities across business unit boundaries in areas that often involve conflict; and
  • High level interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience in presentation, consultation, negotiation and change management including the ability to lead consultative and working groups.
Mandatory requirements of this role:
  • Qualifications at degree or post graduate level (e.g. finance, business management, Technology) 
  • C Class Driver’s License
Highly Desirable requirements of this role:
  • TOGAF Certified
  • ITIL Certification (or similar)
  • COBIT
This role offers a hybrid working environment and given the location of its offices, would suit somebody living on Brisbane's northside or the Sunshine Coast.
