About the Role:

The role of Deputy Director, Facilities Management, presents an exciting opportunity for an effective leader to become part of the Bond team. Working closely with the Director of Facilities Management, this role will be critical in shaping and executing the strategic direction of the University’s physical infrastructure and leading the Facilities Management team.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong operational acumen and a collaborative leadership approach, driving excellence across strategic planning, infrastructure maintenance, and daily facilities operations. A commitment to sustainability, continuous improvement, and service excellence will be essential in meeting the changing needs of the Bond University community.

This is a highly practical, hands-on leadership role that requires a proactive and visible presence across campus operations. This role will provide leadership to the Facilities Management Team, ensuring the smooth delivery of day-to-day operations while also spearheading long-term strategic initiatives to enhance the University's built environment.

In this role you will work in close partnership with the Director to develop and implement strategic initiatives that enhance campus facilities, promote sustainability, and oversee the delivery of complex projects from planning through to execution—ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. You will take an active role in managing operations, with close stakeholder engagement and a focus on problem solving, efficiency, and delivering tangible results.
  
Identifying and supporting opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation will form a key part of the responsibilities. For a driven facilities leader ready to be both strategic and operational, this role offers the chance to lead meaningful change and deliver real, visible results.
  
About the Person:
  
Candidates will have substantial relevant experience, complemented by a strong track record of leadership, effective communication and team collaboration. They will bring in-depth knowledge across facilities management, asset management, sustainability, and workplace health & safety, and be able to demonstrate success in delivering complex capital and maintenance projects from inception to completion.
  
In addition, candidates should demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation. They will be self-motivated, with strong planning and organisational abilities, and capable of managing multiple priorities to deliver both project-specific and operational outcomes.
  
A solid working knowledge of systems such as HVAC, BMS, hydraulic, and electrical is required, as is a proven track record of identifying and implementing cost-effective solutions, processes, and technologies that drive efficiency and value.
