Database Administrator
Job description
We’re seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join a collaborative technology team supporting business-critical applications in a cloud-enabled environment.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for the performance, availability and integrity of enterprise databases, working closely with application developers, ICT teams and external vendors to deliver stable, secure and high-performing database services.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for the performance, availability and integrity of enterprise databases, working closely with application developers, ICT teams and external vendors to deliver stable, secure and high-performing database services.
Key responsibilities:
- Administer, support and optimise SQL databases and application data
- Analyse and implement database schema changes
- Monitor, triage and resolve database and application alerts in a cloud environment
- Support application releases, upgrades and patching (including some out-of-hours work)
- Participate in an on-call support roster as required
- Investigate and report on database and application issues
- Strong experience in SQL database administration
- Working knowledge of Unix/Linux shell scripting
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and deliver practical solutions
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, structured development environment
- Must have Full Australian Working Rights and available for Brisbane Office based work
- PostgreSQL experience
- AWS (particularly RDS)
- Exposure to C, .NET (C#, WPF) or Perl
- Brisbane CBD location with hybrid working
