Are you a data modelling expert ready to apply your skills to a critical enterprise transformation? We’re seeking a Data Modeller for a 4-month full-time contract based in Brisbane, working with a major Queensland Government client.
This opportunity will allow you to lead the design of scalable, well-structured data models that directly support business intelligence, analytics, and strategic decision-making within a large-scale insurance environment.

The Opportunity
You will play a key role in redefining the organisation’s data model—supporting core business entities including claims, policies, payments, and assets—moving from a legacy medallion architecture to a model that supports modern BI and analytics outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and document data models (conceptual, logical, and physical) aligned to medallion architecture.
- Develop ERDs and technical documentation for Claims, Policies, Contacts, Documents, Payments, and Assets.
- Conduct data lineage and impact analysis to ensure traceability and integrity.
- Work closely with stakeholders across business, analytics, and technical teams.
Essential
- Proven experience designing medallion architecture or equivalent (Raw, Standardised, Consumer layers).
- Strong SQL skills and experience with Type 2 Change Data Capture in relational databases.
- Proficiency with data modelling tools such as Erwin or Draw.io.
- Ability to translate complex requirements into actionable data structures.
- Excellent communication skills, including technical documentation.
- Familiarity with Databricks, Azure, and Appian.
- Experience in Power BI and star schema modelling.
- Performance tuning of complex queries.
- Degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Work with a Queensland Government client on a high-impact transformation.
