Our client is a large utilities organisation that services the SE Qld region. Headquartered in Brisbane, this role forms part of the critical ICT division that is driving a large number of programs and new initiatives.
The Role
This an initial seven (7) month daily rate contract that has the potential to go longer and could possibly lead to permanency for the right candidate.
Reporting to the Data Engineering Team Lead, the position supports the Data Analytics Team to enable ingestion of source system data into the Enterprise data Warehouse (EDW). Position includes the upgrade of Databricks 9.1 to 14.3

Requirements
- Strong skills in ADF, DataBricks and SQL Database.
- Experienced Data Engineer problem solver who can work in cloud and on-premise environments to create a connected view of domain owned data across the organisation. The role requires extensive use of the data movement products within Microsoft Azure and can develop / support data movement code and physical data model table building from technical specifications
- Development of ETL routines automated to ensure data currency at the required speed of refresh/availability.
- Create and develop devops tools, algorithms and system data integration tools that are scalable
- Fluent in data programming languages/ETL and Scripting tools
- Ability to work with stakeholders to understand requirement specifications for the movement and transformation of data between systems.
