As a Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for building, refactoring, and maintaining high-quality datasets within the Azure Databricks environment to enable strategic reporting and insights. You will work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to align data assets with evolving business needs.

As a Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for building, refactoring, and maintaining high-quality datasets within the Azure Databricks environment to enable strategic reporting and insights. You will work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to align data assets with evolving business needs.
In this role, you will:
- Build and refactor data pipelines across Raw, Silver, and Gold layers
- Deliver data models around Claims, Policies, Payments, and other core domains
- Support ETL/ELT development, data lineage, and impact analysis
- Contribute to data quality improvements and reporting refactoring
- Create technical documentation and ensure governance alignment
- Expertise in medallion architecture or equivalent (Raw, Standardised, Consumer layers)
- Strong SQL & Python skills with Type 2 Change Data Capture
- Experience with cloud platforms like Databricks, Synapse, Snowflake, or Redshift
- Understanding of data governance, lineage, and integration best practices
- Working in highly regulated environments
- Databricks, Delta Lake, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure Synapse operations
- Appian knowledge
- Power BI report development and semantic model design
- Performance optimisation of queries, scripts, pipelines, and workflows
- Degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related discipline
