Data Architect

Job description

Are you ready to shape the future of data architecture and help build a modern, scalable, and insights-driven enterprise?

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Data Architect to lead the design and delivery of next-generation data solutions — from data lakes and integration frameworks to advanced analytics platforms.

As the Senior Data Architect, you’ll play a key role in defining and delivering the organisation’s enterprise data architecture. In addition, you’ll ensure data is structured, governed, and leveraged effectively to support operational and strategic decision-making.

You’ll provide architectural leadership across integration, data warehousing, analytics, and governance while fostering collaboration between business units, technical teams, and senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Data Architect will include:
  • Develop and maintain enterprise-wide data architecture strategies, ensuring scalability, security, and alignment with business goals.
  • Lead solution design for data platforms, integrations, data lakes, and BI/reporting systems using modern architectures (batch, streaming, APIs, microservices).
  • Create conceptual, logical, and physical data models across structured and unstructured data using best-practice frameworks (Inmon, Kimball, Data Vault).
  • Define and enforce data standards for quality, metadata, security, privacy, and compliance.
  • Architect data solutions across Azure, Snowflake, Informatica, and hybrid/multi-cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to translate business needs into data-driven solutions.
  • Guide and mentor engineering teams on CI/CD, automation, and modern data engineering practices.
  • Optimise data systems for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Promote and embed a strong data culture across the organisation.
Skills & Experience required to measure success:
  • 10+ years’ experience in data architecture, solution design, and enterprise data management.
  • Proven success architecting large-scale BI, analytics, and integration platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud and hybrid ecosystems (Azure, AWS, Snowflake, Informatica, Databricks).
  • Expertise in data modelling (Inmon, Kimball, Data Vault 2.0).
  • Experience with data engineering tools, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
  • Deep understanding of governance, metadata, and master data management.
  • Experience with modern integration approaches (APIs, event-driven, streaming).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership capability

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (required).
  • Postgraduate qualification in Data Science or Information Systems (highly regarded).
  • Certifications in Microsoft, Azure, Snowflake, or Informatica (desirable).
