About the Role

Joining our QLD State Government client, you will be responsible for designing and managing the organisation’s data architecture and information systems.

This role focuses on creating a robust data framework that supports data integrity, accessibility, and security, ensuring that data serves as a strategic asset for decision-making and business growth. This is a key technical member of a program that will oversea the digital transformation of the Human Capital Management system replacement and ERP upgrade.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and define the overall data architecture for the new system, ensuring alignment with technology and enterprise architecture principles.
  • Lead the design and execution of data migration strategies from the legacy system to the new solution. Collaborate with teams to define data transformation rules and validate data quality. Create and implement logical and physical data models that define data structures, relationships, and flows to optimise data usage.
  • Develop and oversee data integration frameworks, ensuring smooth data flow between critical and all systems, using the Enterprise Integration/data platform as a central landing zone. Establish data governance practices and quality standards to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security. Develop and implement monitoring solutions for data consistency and validation.
  • Provide guidance and expertise to the project team on data architecture, data modelling, and best practices for handling large data migrations and integrations. 
  • Assess and recommend data management technologies, tools, and platforms that enhance data integration, storage, and retrieval capabilities.
Key Requirements
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex data sets and workflows.
  • Proven experience in data architecture and data management, especially in enterprise-level migrations and large data environments. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in data migration or data management, with a proven track record of successful migrations in complex environments.
  • Proficiency in Azure data services, particularly Azure DataHub, with a focus on landing zone and integration strategies.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, CDMP) or any Data Architecture certifications.
  • Worked with SAP solutions, Azure products and services are an advantage.
