Data Analyst

Job description

About the Role
Our client in the aged care sector is looking for a Data Analyst who thrives at the intersection of workforce planning, predictive analytics, and HR technology. You’ll play a key role in enabling data-informed decisions across the organisation by providing critical workforce insights, identifying patterns in employee behaviour, and predicting future trends such as flight risks and talent pipeline needs.
Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, you’ll work within the People Data & Insights squad and collaborate cross-functionally to build robust reporting tools, streamline ETL processes, and maintain high-impact dashboards. Your contributions will help drive strategic workforce planning and cost allocation.

Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Reporting

• Respond to ad-hoc and scheduled reporting requests across HR, Finance, and Strategy teams.
• Develop and maintain SQL queries to access data from enterprise data warehouses and HRIS platforms.
• Translate complex HR data into actionable insights for business leaders.
ETL & Data Quality
• Build, test, and maintain complex ETL pipelines to transform workforce planning data.
• Ensure data integrity and validation of large-scale datasets related to financial forecasting and employee time allocation.
• Continuously improve data pipelines for reliability and scalability.

Dashboards & Visualisation
• Own and manage key dashboards used across the organisation.
• Partner with business stakeholders to design, prioritise, and troubleshoot dashboard components.
• Evaluate existing dashboards and recommend when ad-hoc reporting or redesign is needed to meet user needs.
Predictive Analytics & Modelling
• Develop models to predict attrition, workforce demand, and skills gaps using internal HR data.
• Use advanced analytics techniques (e.g., regression, classification) to identify employee flight risks and workforce trends.
• Work with HR business partners to embed insights into workforce strategies and action plans.

About You
You bring curiosity, technical skills, and a strong understanding of HR data landscapes. You’re not just a numbers person — you can translate data into strategy and communicate it with clarity to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.

What You’ll Need to Succeed
• 4–7 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a similar role.
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with large relational databases.
• Proficiency in data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Experience with HR technologies (Human Force, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, or similar).
• Understanding of workforce planning, employee engagement, and HR KPIs.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to tailor insights to different audiences.
