Job description
We are is seeking an enthusiastic, well-rounded, positive and highly motivated Contracts Manager to lead the Contracts Team. With a can do attitude, you will work as part of a dynamic, fast-paced and agile team with overall responsibility for delivery of new business campaign/bid responses, contractual governance and functional excellence including establishing and maintaining compliant processes in support of contractual activities and validation of tools and systems for use across the Contracts function.
The successful applicant will provide leadership and daily task coordination for this team and be responsible for the overall delivery of Contracts Team requirements. The Contracts Manager will report directly to the Director of the function and will be based in Brisbane Head Office.

Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and task the Contracts Team members, focusing on optimizing new campaign/bid support, performance, governance, functional excellence, continuous improvement, safety and quality.
- Develop and manage training, career and performance plans for all Contracts Team members.
- Provide technical oversight and approval of Contract team activities, deliverables and processes.
- Provide general leadership and mentoring to the Contracts Team to maximise opportunities and minimize contractual/business risks.
- Assist with the development of innovative contractual solutions and implement changes and improvements where necessary.
- Develop and execute plans, policies and procedures and set operational goals.
- Develop and sustain relationships and partnerships with key customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
- Lead training initiatives across the Contracts function.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in managing complex contracting activities.
- Demonstrated experience in leading multidisciplinary and geographically diverse teams with a focus on service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to engage, influence and negotiate at all levels with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and customers.
- Strong understanding of general contracting principles and the application of relevant techniques.
- Demonstrated experience developing and negotiating diverse contracting solutions.
- Strong understanding of negotiation concepts, practices and principles.
- Significant experience of successful complex negotiations with customers.
- Experience in supporting campaigns and projects in an ASDEFCON contract environment highly regarded.
- Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements.
