Troocoo are proud to be partnering with a leading Queensland not-for-profit to source an experienced Communications Advisor to join their team from January on an initial 3-month contract.
This opportunity will see you embedded within a busy marketing function, supporting a range of internal communications, engagement initiatives, and change-related projects. The organisation is undertaking a number of initiatives focused on strengthening connection, clarity and engagement across teams, and this role will play a key part in supporting that work.
Working closely with senior leaders and stakeholders across the organisation, you’ll help ensure internal communications are clear, consistent and aligned to organisational values, while also providing general communications support as required.

Key responsibilities:
- Develop, write and publish internal communications including staff newsletters, intranet content, leadership updates and organisational announcements.
- Support change management and transformation initiatives through practical communications such as FAQs, leader talking points, user guides and supporting collateral.
- Work with leaders and teams across the organisation to plan and deliver key messages and updates.
- Coordinate staff and volunteer engagement initiatives, surveys, recognition programs and internal campaigns.
- Collaborate with teams to create storytelling content that highlights impact, achievements and organisational outcomes.
- Provide broader communications support including media releases, website copy, newsletters and fundraising content when required.
- Assist with issues and crisis communications as needed, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- 3–5+ years’ experience in a communications role within a complex or purpose-driven organisation.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences and channels.
- Confident engaging with senior stakeholders and building positive working relationships.
- Well organised, adaptable and comfortable managing competing priorities.
- Practical, hands-on approach and willingness to roll up your sleeves.
