The Role

Troocoo are partnered with a leading resources organisation delivering integrated energy and infrastructure services to recruit a Commercial Manager based out of their Townsville office.

Reporting into the Head of Commercial, the Commercial Manager will drive the commercial strategy, enabling staff to have the required services to maximise revenue opportunities and ensure sustainable, innovative growth and profitability.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Lead and mentor a team of 2 direct reports.
  • Develop, lead and execute category plans based on research and analysis to optimise value-for-money outcomes that meet stakeholder needs and business expectations. 
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies to meet business needs, enhance stakeholder engagement, challenge and motivate providers to optimise outcomes. 
  • Lead negotiations on high-impact, complex supply arrangements and contract issues to deliver better commercial outcomes. 
  • Identify and manage commercial, contractual, operational, financial, reputational, ethical and supply chain risks to minimise negative impacts on the business. 
  • Provide expert commercial advice to key stakeholders. 
  • Provide commercial advice to support contract owners in contract management, e.g., management of payment claims and invoicing to ensure compliance with the commercial agreement. 
  • Demonstrate leadership in safety through personal behaviours and conversations.
  • Promote awareness of health & safety practices and imbed a safety culture.
  
Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role you will thrive in a fast paced, high-volume environment. You will have seen success within your previous positions because of your strong attention to detail skills as well as your ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.  
  • Previous experience in a Procurement, Contracts, Supply Chain leadership role
  • Proven track record of delivering savings through effective procurement practices
  • Mining industry exposure is required
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Economics, Engineering, Law, or a related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability influence at all levels
  • Must either live or be willing to relocate to Townsville, QLD. FIFO is not an option.
