Chief Impact and Strategy Officer
Job description
About Youturn:
Youturn is a leading, community-driven not-for-profit with over 35 years of experience transforming lives across Australia.
From its beginnings on the Sunshine Coast supporting young people, Youturn now delivers a wide range of vital services to people of all ages, from mental health and suicide postvention programs to homelessness support and holistic care for families and children at risk of disconnection.
Youturn is more than a service provider—it is a catalyst for change, dedicated to creating meaningful, lasting impact in the lives of the communities it serves.
As it looks to the future, Youturn is committed to evolving, innovating, and staying deeply responsive to the changing needs of Australians, ensuring its programs remain relevant, effective, and life-changing.
About the Role:
The Chief Strategy & Impact Officer (CSIO) is a pivotal executive role at the heart of Youturn’s future, shaping direction, driving sustainable growth, and ensuring the organisation delivers real, measurable impact where it matters most.
Reporting to the CEO and partnering closely with the Executive Team, you will bring clarity, alignment and energy to Youturn’s next chapter, helping the organisation continue to evolve as a trusted, agile and deeply connected community partner.
This is a broad and influential remit. You will lead strategy, partnerships, innovation, advocacy, fundraising and communications, strengthening Youturn’s national voice while expanding its impact across mental health, wellbeing, postvention and community services.
At its core, this role is about turning intent into impact. You will ensure growth is not only ambitious, but evidence-informed, financially sustainable and grounded in genuine community need. Just as importantly, you will translate strategy into clear priorities, smart investment decisions and outcomes that can be seen, measured and felt.
About the Person:
You are a strategic, commercially astute executive with a track record of shaping and delivering growth in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. You bring a rare blend of big-picture thinking and practical execution, able to translate insight, evidence and emerging trends into clear strategy, compelling narratives and decisive action.
A natural connector, you build credibility quickly with government, partners and executive peers, and thrive in environments where influence, advocacy and alignment are critical.
You’re equally comfortable in the detail and at the strategic horizon, with strong financial acumen, systems thinking and the ability to navigate complexity with clarity.
You’ve led enterprise-wide strategy, transformation or growth agendas and know how to bring people on the journey, fostering collaboration, accountability and shared purpose across teams.
Your leadership style is grounded, values-led and authentic, with a genuine commitment to delivering meaningful impact for communities.
Experience in human services, policy or evidence-based environments will be highly regarded, as will your ability to work at the intersection of strategy, impact and innovation.
