About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Chef to join their aged care team near Mackay, QLD. This role is ideal for someone who values resident wellbeing, enjoys working in a collaborative environment, and takes pride in preparing nutritious, high-quality meals that make a genuine difference.

Facility located in the pristine Pioneer Valley just west of Mackay.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and deliver fresh, nutritious meals in line with dietary guidelines.
  • Follow food safety protocols and safe work practices (HACCP).
  • Participate in seasonal menu planning and discussions with dietitians.
  • Provide texture-modified meals (IDDSI) and special diets as required.
  • Engage positively with residents, respecting their preferences and cultural needs.
  • Support ongoing quality improvement and audit activities.
  • Ensure compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards and food service regulations.

About You:
  • Proven experience in a similar cooking role, ideally in a healthcare, aged care, or clinical setting.
  • Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery - Required
  • NDIS Workers Check - Required
  • Unlimited Working Rights in Australia - Required
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
  • Strong understanding of dietary needs, allergies, and food safety protocols
  • Excellent time management, communication, and problem-solving abilities
