Business Analyst (GIS)

You will support a new GIS program and related initiatives by developing business process maps, data models, business, and technical requirements.

What will you need?
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst delivering spatial and asset projects.
  • Experience working in Agile environments and business process mapping utilising BPMN tools adhering to methodology (Experience in value stream mapping, implementing process improvements/optimising workflows, defining the optimum 'to-be' state. 
  • Expertise in spatial and asset management concepts (e.g. Cadastre, GDA2020), preferably implementations with Esri products.
  • Demonstrated project experience documenting requirements for building spatial platforms, UX, desktop spatial tools.
  • SQL/database skills
  • Data migration
  • Experience documenting reporting requirements
What will you be doing?

Reporting to the Spatial Program Manager you will:
  • Facilitate business process mapping workshops (as-is and to-be)
  • Assist in process mapping and the analysis of data (spatial and non-spatial) to inform planning, system design, data mapping, data governance activities
  • Assist the project manager with other activities including work instructions
  • Participate in scrum workshops working with vendors, product owners, and SMEs to document quality user stories resulting in quality outcomes
  • Work with stakeholders to identify spatial and asset data exchanges, assist with documenting data attributes and requirements
  • Assist with documenting system integration requirement for future systems integration and testing
  • Document functional and non-functional requirements
  • Document/develop business requirements for front end spatial tools (UX design)
  • Complete spatial analysis and management of spatial data to support the team's delivery and operationalisation of the new spatial platform
  • Complete research and analysis activities to inform planning policy, procedures, and standards to enable spatial initiatives
  • Work closely with the Asset Management and related workstreams on inter dependencies
While a flexible work environment is on offer, the successful candidate will be required to attend the offices located in Ipswich.
