Business Analyst

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst for a 6 month fixed term contract to join a collaborative and fast-paced delivery environment working on an exciting Digital Transformation Program of Work!

In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to support the end-to-end business analysis function, ensuring high-quality requirements are captured, documented, and translated into effective business and technology solutions.

Key responsibilities of the Business Analyst will be as follows: 
  • Elicit, document, and manage business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria, ensuring traceability to deliverables
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder sessions to gather and prioritise requirements, including defining Minimum Viable Product (MVP) scope
  • Develop and maintain as-is and to-be process maps to support business process improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts, delivery teams, testers, and fellow Business Analysts to ensure shared understanding of requirements
  • Support the design and delivery of business solutions aligned to organisational objectives and customer outcomes
  • Identify inefficiencies and opportunities for process optimisation and innovation
  • Contribute to persona development and customer journey mapping where required
  • Partner with stakeholders to document business processes, policies, and procedures to support change initiatives
  • Support continuous improvement of business analysis practices and contribute to community of practice activities

To be considered for this role we are seeking the following key professional requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Information Technology, Data Management or a related field, and/or formal Business Analysis certification (e.g. BABOK, BPMN 2.0)
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst in an agile delivery environment
  • Proven ability to facilitate workshops and elicit detailed business requirements
  • Strong understanding of technical concepts, with the ability to communicate clearly to non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria that are clear, concise, and actionable
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience using collaboration and delivery tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira, Confluence, Miro, Figma, and Microsoft 365 suite
Desirable candidates will have BPMN 2.0 experience and exposure to complex environments, with strong strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.

You will be collaborative problem-solvers with solid business acumen, able to drive process improvements, manage competing priorities, and support data-driven decision-making.
