About the Client and Role:
Our client is a Queensland leader within the financial services sector. They pride themselves on building relationships with their clients while working towards a collaborative internal work culture. This role is a newly created position for a project but has potential to extend further. As an Assistant Accountant, you will support the broader team with:

• Processing month-end closure including review of the monthly profit and loss and balance sheet.
• Review and process journals.
• Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
• Process Accounts Payable.
• Assist with both statutory reporting.
• Other ad hoc requests from Group Financial Accountants within your team.
• Suggest modifications and improvements to processes or controls and share evaluation and implementation of changes.

About You:

• More than 3 years of accounting or auditing experience.
• Bachelor of Business/Commerce (Accounting) or similar.
• Completed or in progress to complete CA or CPA is highly desirable.
• Experience in creditors and debtors’ reconciliation.
• Experience with month end closure process including reconciliations and substantiation.
• Recent experience in audit or financial services is also highly desirable.
