AO6 Senior Technology Officer

About the Role
Joining our QLD State Government client for an initial 4-month contract, you will lead in the delivery of IT services by the Business Systems team. This includes the provision of technical support and expert advice to internal staff as well as a range of systems administration and problem management tasks.
 
This role will interact with internal stakeholders across the entire department and external government entities.  The systems used are bespoke (VisualFiles, eDocs and Elite).  While not essential to have worked with these programs, someone with solid database management experience and previous Government experience would be beneficial.
 
Key responsibilities
  • Co-ordinate and lead the IT support services of the Department's Helpdesk and provide responsive, client focused desktop, application and technology support to staff.
  • Act as an escalation point in the team for complex technical issues and undertake analysis and advanced troubleshooting to investigate, diagnose and resolve problems.
  • Proactively perform systems administration tasks including device management, server maintenance and performance monitoring.
  • Undertake the installation, configuration and testing of new software and configuration changes and assist with deployment processes.
  • Supervise Technology Officers to deliver outcomes, including:
  • Prioritisation, allocation and scheduling of work tasks;
  • Rostering of staff to ensure client service standards are continuously met;
  • Mentoring and skills development.
To Be Successful

Ideally you will have demonstrated experience and knowledge in the IT support services space and be willing to learn, be process driven and able to work in a fast-paced environment. You will have demonstrable experience in a Senior level role, with mentoring or leading responsibilities. Previous Government experience is highly beneficial.
