Troocoo Government are supporting a key QLD State Government with the recruitment of an experienced AO6 Senior Claims Advisor! This is an initial 12-month temporary labour hire contract, based in Brisbane's CBD. Hourly rate of $79.18 per hour + super.

The Role
The AO6 Senior Claims Advisor will manage a diverse portfolio of Common Law personal injury claims involving uninsured or unidentified motor vehicles. You’ll oversee the full claims lifecycle - from assessment and investigation through to negotiation, mediation, legal processes and settlement.

You will also support the development of the team by mentoring claims staff, providing strategic guidance, and contributing to training and capability uplift.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Manage a portfolio of complex and catastrophic CTP claims, including rehabilitation approvals, liability investigations, negotiation and settlement.
  • Mentor and support claims officers, and assist with external stakeholder management as required.
  • Ensure accurate claims estimates, data integrity and payment approvals within delegation.
  • Provide technical advice on common law liability and CTP matters, and monitor compliance with claims standards and KPIs.
  • Negotiate and approve settlements, legal costs and related expenses within delegation.
  • Represent the organisation at conferences, negotiations, hearings and other proceedings.
  • Contribute to process improvement, policy development and major organisational initiatives.
  • Prepare required reports, correspondence and documentation, and support the Manager and leadership team as needed.
About You
To be considered a competitive applicant for this position, you would ideally bring the following:
  • Prior experience in managing claims under the Motor Accident Insurance Act 1994, in particular catastrophic claims, utilising best practice claims standards.
  • A sound understanding of liability and knowledge of applicable case law.
  • The ability to assess the quantum of a personal injury claims including the application of the Civil Liability Act 2003 & Regulation.
