Troocoo Government are currently on the search for an AO3 Project Support Officer (Finance) to join a critical QLD State Government client! This is an initial 12-month full-time agency labour hire contract opportunity, based in Buderim on the Sunshine Coast. The position will pay between $51.13 to $56.72 per hour + 12% super.
The Role
The AO3 Project Support Officer (Finance) will work within a supportive team environment and will assist Project Managers and internal stakeholders by providing financial and administrative support across a large portfolio of infrastructure projects. This role will see you working across approximately 100 projects, contributing to the financial governance, reporting and administration that supports project delivery across the region.

The Role
The AO3 Project Support Officer (Finance) will work within a supportive team environment and will assist Project Managers and internal stakeholders by providing financial and administrative support across a large portfolio of infrastructure projects. This role will see you working across approximately 100 projects, contributing to the financial governance, reporting and administration that supports project delivery across the region.
Key responsibilities include:
- Undertaking governance checks and preparing documentation for financial approvals
- Maintaining project tracking registers in Excel and SharePoint
- Updating project and contract information within systems such as Unifier (3PCM) and SAP
- Creating and amending purchase requisitions
- Processing payments including governance checks, approvals, goods receipting and lodgement through relevant portals
- Preparing and processing general journals
- Calculating and submitting initial and final QLeave payments
- Maintaining accurate recordkeeping through the department’s Document Management System (DMS)
- Actioning financial and project reports including Project Finalisation Workbooks, Expenditure Commitments and Late Payment reports
- Assisting with project finalisation activities and contract administration
- Supporting the administration of grant programs where required
- Providing financial process guidance and support to Project Managers
- Assisting with general ledger reconciliation for projects
- Participating in team meetings and supporting broader administrative functions including mail distribution.
As a competitive applicant for the AO3 Project Support Officer (Finance) positions, you would ideally demonstrate the following:
- Previous experience in financial administration, project support or accounts payable (mandatory).
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate financial records.
- Experience working with systems such as SAP, SharePoint or similar financial/project systems.
- Confidence working with Excel and tracking registers.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks across numerous projects.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders.
