A fantastic opportunity exists for an experienced Accounting Team Leader to join a well-regarded not-for-profit organisation supporting vulnerable individuals across the South Burnett region.

The Opportunity

In this pivotal role, you’ll lead and mentor a dedicated team of Finance Officers, ensuring the smooth delivery of day-to-day financial operations — including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and compliance.

Reporting to the Finance & Corporate Services Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting operational teams with budgeting and financial management while driving improvements in accounting practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and support a team of finance professionals
  • Oversee end-to-end accounting functions including AP, AR, payroll, and reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and reporting standards
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support effective budgeting and forecasting
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function
About You:

You’re an experienced and approachable leader with a strong background in accounting and a commitment to accuracy, efficiency, and service excellence.
  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • At least 5 years’ experience in finance or accounting roles
  • Proficient in MYOB or similar accounting software, with strong payroll knowledge
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to mentor and develop others
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to compliance
  • Experience in a not-for-profit or community services environment will be highly regarded.
