Troocoo are seeking an experienced Financial Officer to take the lead in driving robust financial management, insightful reporting, and strong financial governance across both operational and ICT portfolios in a state government department.

This role provides strategic financial advice and hands-on support across a range of financial management functions, including:
- Budgeting, forecasting, and cost management
- End-of-month and end-of-financial-year financial processes
- Managing ICT budgets for business areas within the department
- Detailed financial oversight of ICT projects
- Financial operations including accounts payable (AP), contract management, and variance reporting
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis
- Provide strategic advice to support financial decision-making
- Oversee project and operational budgeting for ICT and BIS
- Ensure financial processes align with departmental and government standards
- Maintain effective financial controls and ensure policy compliance
- Identify process improvement opportunities and automate workflows using Excel and other tools.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including automation of tasks/processes
- Experience in project accounting, financial accounting, and management accounting
- Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Demonstrated financial acumen across both operational and project budgets
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Effective time management and organisational abilities
- High attention to detail with a focus on delivering quality outcomes
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with Agile tools, particularly DevOps
- Experience in administration and support functions, rather than project management
