Our client is a genuine leader in the resources sector and has a long track record of achieving innovation which delivers high performance and improvements in all areas of mining and resources operations. 
 
Project overview.
The role will commence work at the very start of this cutting-edge project that focuses on digital enablement. Working as part of a small, but highly experienced project team, you will be an integral part of achieving successful outcomes. The project team, including this position, will be based initially in Brisbane whilst the team works together on project strategy. The role will then evolve to being based for the majority of the time on a Queensland mine site. With that in mind, the successful candidate must be open to a FI/FO component.                
 
Role overview. 
  • In this critical position you will be the sole UI/UX Designer on the project. You will gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers and engineers. 
  • You will prepare and present draft designs to internal teams and key stakeholders and be able to illustrate the designs and ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps.
  • You will design graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs and widgets and create page navigation and search fields.
  • You will create original graphic designs (e.g. develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and images, sketches and tables) with front-end coding experience.
  • Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback, adhere to style standards on fonts, colours and images and identify and troubleshoot UX problems.   
 
About you. 
  • You will have a minimum of three years’ commercial experience working as a UI/UX Designer.
  • You will possess a level of front-end development capability (React, HTML5 and CSS3).
  • Demonstrable experience with designer tools (Axure RP, InVision, Sketch, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator or similar).
  • Experienced in advanced excel, and an understanding of design thinking concepts.
  • You will be an exceptional communicator both written and verbally. 
  • Any experience in the resources and mining sector would be advantageous, but not mandatory.
