Manager Clinical Coding Service

Job description

Our client is a health services provider seeking a manager for their Clinical Coding service.  The successful candidate will be working in a close knit team who specialise in providing clinical coding, clinical data management, health record management, medico-legal, clinical transcription and mail services.

Role Responsibilities:
  • To be responsible for all aspects of Clinical Coding Service delivery including meeting internal and external coding deadlines, managing clinical coding staff including productivity, ensuring the highest quality of clinical coding data is produced
  • Ensure IT systems enable efficient coding practices, developing clinician liaison and managing projects associated with the Clinical Coding Service.
  • Ensure the effective performance management and staff development of all staff within the Clinical Coding Service to enable staff to perform at their full potential. 
  • Manage an effective coding quality and education program that ensures the highest quality of coded data is produced
  • Undertake / lead projects as required relating to clinical coding or other related health information management activities
Essential Skillset:
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to lead, motivate, and manage a work team to meet operational and strategic goals with the ability to solve problems and review, revise and implement changes to systems and policies.  
  • Demonstrated experience or ability to effectively manage and improve coding service timeliness and quality. 
  • Experience in project management and/or project participation to achieve project milestones and outcomes.
  • Possession of a qualification in Health Information Management or Clinical Coding. A strong commitment to the field of clinical coding.
