Lead Policy Officer - Banking

Job description

Assisting the Manager, you will be responsible for:
  • Projects and research that will result in the formulation of new or revised changes to home lending policies, procedures, products and support offerings. 
  • Further develop policies, procedures, and communications that support the lending program too deliver customer focused solutions underpinned by risk management practices and legislative compliance
  • Monitor and report on market factors including interest rate movements and regulatory changes
  • Coordinating complain handling practices and managing complex complaints through to resolution
  • Prepare briefing papers for the board and senior executives regarding new policy proposals
  • Oversee and guide the team, managing leave and overseeing work activities to ensure maximum output and ensuring team objectives are met
Your background will reflect a solid work history in lending policy and procedure development, ideally you will have experience at branch level as well as back office policy development and some leadership experience. Key criteria include:
  • Well developed knowledge of lending products 
  • Demonstrated experience in policy development and procedure review
  • Solid research and project management skills
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong customer focus and complaint handling skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Well developed organisation and staff management skills
