About the role
The purpose of this role is to provide operational and strategic leadership of WHSE for the Company. Through strong business partnerships, you will engage with the business to drive a strong culture of WHSE and be accountable for the development and delivery of strategic objectives and risk management across the group. Reporting to the GM People & Safety at a time of important business integration, you will utilise your previous experience creating and building safety frameworks and cultures. Leading a team of two reports, this role will be a combination of ‘hands on’ operational support, whilst also building relationships at the executive level and driving the overall safety strategy. About you:
You have proven success building safety cultures, systems and frameworks within an organisation experiencing business transformation. You are a recognised high performer with experience leading WHSE teams. You excel at creating strategy and partnering with senior executives to build safety cultures, whilst you also enjoy contributing at an operational level. This, along with your drive and motivation for contributing to a new safety integration strategy, will ensure you are an integral part of building an outstanding safety culture that is front of mind for every team member. Ideally you will have tertiary qualifications in WHSE and demonstrated experience in fast paced, customer centric and blue-collar environments. - Drive WHSE culture through partnership & coaching to lead a zero-harm workplace
- Develop and lead the implementation of the WHSE strategic plan
- Provide leadership to the WHSE team and wider regional safety teams
- Lead WHSE integration and determine group wide process, procedure & policy direction
- Develop & implement a WHSE reporting structure, provide board reports & insights
- Lead due diligence into acquisitions as it relates to WHSE
- Partner with the business to ensure that WHSE risks are well managed
- Ensure learnings and corrective actions from audits, incidents or other sources are implemented and enhance the WHSE environment
