As my client embarks on their next exciting phase we are currently recruiting for the role of Head of Department, Nutrition to further support and enhance this department.
The role of Head of Department is multifaceted and is responsible for the overall performance and high level strategy of the department. You will not only be responsible for the guiding and overseeing course planning, design, development, and delivery, you will also have a strong focus on leadership while ensuring business objectives are being met. The role of Head of Department is multifaceted and is responsible for the overall performance and high level strategy of the department. You will not only be responsible for the guiding and overseeing course planning, design, development, and delivery, you will also have a strong focus on leadership while ensuring business objectives are being met. Key objectives include:
- Lead the ongoing review, planning and development of course structure and content;
- Provide leadership and management oversight regarding subject development and improvement;
- Provide leadership and professional development/training to staff to meet departmental, staff and organisational skill needs;
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the student experience, improve educational outcomes and engagement, incorporating student feedback and consultation to target and monitor quality improvement initiatives;
- Provide leadership to staff to ensure student accountability to all academic policies and procedures and the Student Charter and Code of Conduct;
- Understand, monitor and support planning for departmental budget ensuring operating expenses are managed within the budget requirements. Complete accountability for headcount budget and capital expenditure budget for course development;
- Lead department in cross-departmental work processes, including but not limited to timetable review, national booklist updates, library resource improvements, Open Days, and Vitality Days;
- Oversee departmental academic operations such as staff allocations, results administration and Examiners’ Committee processes;
