Assistant Accountant

Job description

Our client are in an industry that has been safe from the economic impacts of COVID-19. Therefore, they are continuing to move forward with growth plans which includes the appointment of an Assistant Accountant.  The organisation has multiple entities and has recently acquired additional businesses which is driving the need for extra support in the accounting function. 

This role has a broad scope of activities with the day to day emphasis on credit card reconciliations, bank reconciliations, creating and posting of journal entries.  Key responsibilities will include:
  • Completing all month end tasks
  • Assist in preparing monthly reports
  • Analysis support to the business relating to variances against budgets and forecasts
  • Completing credit card reconciliations
  • Liaise with vendors and other stakeholders as required
  • Identify opportunities for improvement within the entities with regards to expenditure
What you will bring:
  • Previous experience in an Accounts role with relevant skills
  • Have qualifications in accounting, working towards qualifications or be qualified by experience
  • A highly effective approach to prioritization and meeting deadlines
  • A highly proactive team player that seeks opportunities to contribute to the business
  • A solid customer service approach to internal clients and willingness to support and problem solve to assist others
  • A positive attitude and genuine enjoyment of team work 
  • A willingness to embrace change, as the company grows systems and processes will evolve
  • Adaptability to take on tasks outside of your role as required due to business needs
