WHS / Safety Advisor - Transition from the Tools into Safety

Due to continued company growth and internal promotions, Troocoo is proud to be partnering with a well-established commercial construction business to recruit a Safety Advisor to support projects across South East Queensland.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone from a trade or residential construction background who is passionate about safety and looking to step into or further develop their WHS career within commercial construction.

The Opportunity Reporting to the WHS Manager, you will work closely with supervisors, subcontractors and site teams across multiple active construction projects. You will play a hands-on role supporting day-to-day safety operations, helping identify risks, improving site standards and contributing to a strong safety culture.

- Has come off the tools and wants to move into safety
- Has residential construction experience and wants exposure to larger commercial projects
- Enjoys working with people and being present on site rather than behind a desk
- Is passionate about creating safer work environments
- Conduct site inspections and safety walks across active projects
- Support supervisors and site teams with practical WHS advice
- Identify hazards, assess risks and implement controls
- Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions
- Deliver toolbox talks, site inductions and safety conversations
- Maintain WHS documentation and compliance requirements
- Build strong relationships with subcontractors and stakeholders
- Promote a proactive, positive and practical safety culture
- Trade background or hands-on construction experience highly regarded
- Experience in residential or commercial construction
- Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety (or currently completing)
- Strong understanding of construction site safety practices
- Confident communicator who can build rapport with crews on site
- Motivated to grow a long-term career in WHS
- White Card required
