The Team Leader, Intelligent Networks is accountable for coordinating and directing the interface of functions within the Intelligent Networks team. Through the use of data driven insights and adoption of technology and IoT solutions, the team provides a structured approach to long term solutions that eliminate network faults and improves operability of Unitywater’s networks.
 
The position will provide leadership to the Intelligent Network team working collaboratively with the Network Engineering and Control Room sections to ensure a safe and engaged workforce that delivers commercially prudent and efficient outcomes consistent with Unitywater’s Customer Charter.

Key functions of the role include:
  • Coordinate and direct the interface of functions within the Intelligent Network team to provide a structured approach to long term solutions to common and emerging network issues within while providing a quality customer experience and ensuring compliance with regulator obligations.
  • Develop and lead the data analytics and engineering insights capability. 
  • Foster the Intelligent Network Team behaviours and decision-making capability that results in positive customer experiences.
  • Lead and direct a structured approach to ensuring the operational continuity of the network, collaborating with other Network Engineering teams and the Control Room to maintain operational resilience.
  • Provide technical support within Network Operations during incidents and manage resolution of long-term, complex network issues.
  • Facilitate root cause investigations of network incidents and significant events to determine preventative solutions for related network infrastructure.
 Skills and Capability Requirements:
  • Highly developed leaderships and communication skills to lead and manage a diverse technical function that interfaces with business-critical functions.
  • Highly developed stakeholder management skills necessary to work with business and external stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science or Engineering coupled with significant applied experience in water and sewer network optimisation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the requirements associated with conducting complex network analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance commercial knowledge and results with technical outcomes to achieve best for business solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate a highly technical topic into corporate terms to effectively communicate opportunities and risk.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, develop and drive performance of a multi discipline technical team.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver outcomes to mutually agreed deadlines, schedules and commitments.
  • C Class Driver’s License.
