System Administrator

Job description

The Opportunity:
Join our client, a nationally recognized Cybersecurity and Research body in a high-impact, project-focused 3-6-month contract. We are looking for a delivery-oriented System Administrator to play a key role in uplifting vulnerability management and patching practices as our client moves toward ISO certification.
This is a "hands-on" role where you will be responsible for implementing practical improvements across the infrastructure, moving security processes from a "project" state into "business-as-usual."

The Role:
This isn't a strategy role; it’s about delivery. You will work alongside the security and platform teams to design, document, and embed effective workflows. Your focus will be on:
  • Remediation & Patching: Executing and documenting patching cycles across Linux and AWS environments.
  • Process Implementation: Reviewing current practices and creating repeatable, auditable workflows.
  • ISO Readiness: Producing the operational documentation and evidence needed for audit review.
  • Technical Uplift: Working with internal teams to ensure vulnerability management becomes a sustainable part of daily operations.
What You Bring:
  • Core Skills: Strong experience in Linux System Administration and familiarity with AWS, executing and documenting patching cycles.
  • Operational Mindset: Practical experience in vulnerability management and remediation tracking (you know how to get the work done).
  • Documentation Ability: You can translate technical activities into clear operational documentation.
  • Communication: A collaborative approach, with the ability to work across different IT and security teams.
Why This Project?
  • High Visibility: Be a key contributor to a major ISO certification for a prestigious national body.
  • Strong Rate: Competitive daily rate
  • Brisbane Based: Collaborative, professional environment with a focus on sustainable IT practices.
