The Role
Our client is a large-scale infrastructure business with aggressive growth plans over the next 8-years. This newly created Senior Procurement Manager position will engage with the business units and provide support for the development and execution of category strategies and sourcing events to deliver best total value outcomes, whilst providing high levels of customer service and compliance with procurement policies, standards, processes, and best practices.

This role incorporates the full end to end scope of procurement, leading Procure to Pay as well as Source to Contract functions and activities for both project and operational procurement, total spend in excess of $2billion per annum.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Lead the supplier relationship management framework across the projects to ensure safety, risks, quality, cost and time are effectively managed.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial requirements, developing, implementing, and operating budgets for management activities.
  • Manage budgets within expected guidelines and service levels.
  • Liaise directly with business units to understand stakeholder requirements to ensure value for money outcomes and risk assured solutions are achieved such that Procurement is seen as a valued business partner.
  • Provide day-to-day operation commercial advice to all parts of the business that are required to Procure Goods, Works, or Services, developing Project Agreement/Plan and triaging to Procurement peers where appropriate.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Continuously drive agility and flexibility in responding to market and industry changes.
  • Drive a focused commercial perspective, including an outward focus, awareness of delivery cycle times, and professional completion of work products.
  • Work closely with the Major Project function to identify and support the Major Project program through early concept support, risk inputs and assessments.
Skills & Experience
  • An extensive background in procurement, sourcing, contracts, and contract law
  • Previous experience managing teams with direct and indirect reports
  • Experience within the infrastructure, utilities, energy, or construction industries is preferred 
  • Confident negotiation, influencing & relationship management skills
  • Understanding of contemporary sourcing practice
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong ERP System and the use of B2B tools such as procurement / tender management desirable
  • Applicants with related tertiary experience and / or CIPS qualifications are welcomed
