Are you an experienced GIS professional looking to make an impact? Join our client's team as a GIS Specialist on a contract basis and play a pivotal role in shaping and managing their geographic information systems (GIS) for optimal delivery and use.

About the Role:
Reporting to the Team Leader (Spatial and Asset Information), you'll develop, implement, and monitor frameworks, processes, and procedures that enhance the effectiveness of our spatial systems. You’ll be instrumental in providing expert advice, coordinating spatial data standards, and ensuring their GIS platforms operate seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement governance frameworks for enterprise spatial systems and GIS.
  • Provide training and support to team members on GIS tools such as ArcGIS Pro and Portal.
  • Conduct data quality reviews and ensure spatial data accuracy and currency.
  • Lead spatial analysis projects to support decision-making across the organization.
  • Research and recommend industry best practices and emerging GIS trends.
  • Foster relationships with stakeholders to promote effective spatial information use.
About You:
You’re a GIS expert with proven experience in ArcGIS Enterprise and desktop applications. Your technical proficiency, particularly with GIS databases, web portals, and interfaces, will help you thrive in this role. You are a strong communicator with a passion for training and supporting others while staying ahead of industry trends.

Qualifications:

Mandatory:
  • Tertiary qualifications in spatial science, information technology, or a related field OR equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience in the implementation and management of Esri ArcGIS Enterprise.
Desirable:
  • Advanced skills in SQL Server management and FME.
  • Experience in automating GIS data processes using FME.
This role is available for an immediate start and is initially 12 months.  The successful candidate will be required to attend the office, located in Ipswich, on a regular basis.  You will need to live within a commutable distance.  Apply now for immediate consideration.
