Job description
To assist over EOFY and through the audit, we are recruiting for an experienced and technically strong Senior Financial Accountant to join a values‑driven, not‑for‑profit organisation for a period of around six months with an immediate start. My client is seeking someone comfortable operating in complex environments, analytically capable and technically strong.

About the Role

Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Co-ordinating statutory reporting and supporting external compliance requirements
- Maintaining strong financial controls, governance and balance sheet integrity
- Managing complex accounting areas including journals, FBT, payroll and inter‑entity reconciliations
- Group accounting including consolidation and elimination
- Driving simplification and continuous improvement across accounting processes and systems
- Improving efficiency by reducing manual processing and reporting delays
- Overseeing the work of a small financial accounting and reporting team and partnering with relevant internal stakeholders and auditors
About You
Some of the skills and experience you will bring to this position include:
- CA or CPA qualification with a relevant tertiary degree
- Proven experience in hands on senior financial accounting roles
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards, internal controls and governance requirements
- Exposure to statutory accounting and reporting including disclosure notes
- Experience with consolidation and elimination entries for a large group
- Familiarity with fair value vs original cost
- Strong Excel and systems skills
- Exposure to the not‑for‑profit or community services sector highly regarded
- A practical, solutions‑focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
