Safety Advisor

Job description

A well-established, privately owned builder-developer with a strong footprint across South East Queensland is seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to support a sustained pipeline of commercial and multi-residential projects.

Projects are locally based, ensuring minimal travel and strong continuity across sites.
The Opportunity You will take ownership of site-based safety across a portfolio of commercial and multi-residential builds, playing a key role in embedding a proactive and high-performing safety culture.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Acting as the primary safety lead on-site, ensuring compliance with WHS legislation and internal frameworks
  • Partnering with site teams and subcontractors to drive safe work practices and positive behavioural outcomes
  • Conducting site inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and implementing corrective actions
  • Leveraging established systems (including HammerTech) to manage reporting, audits, and site compliance
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the broader HSE function
Projects & Structure
  • Diverse portfolio including multi-storey residential, commercial, and retail developments
  • Regionally aligned HSE team (Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast) to support work-life balance
About You
  • Demonstrated experience as a site-based Safety Advisor within the construction sector
  • Exposure to commercial vertical builds and or large industrial sheds
  • Confident working autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on influencing positive safety behaviours
  • Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety
