Project Manager (Flood Risk Management)
Job description
I am pleased to be partnering with a Queensland Government Statutory Authority focused on resilience and disaster recovery to engage an experienced Project Manager. This is an initial 6-month contract (with extension potential) based in the Brisbane CBD, working across flood risk management programs that have real impact across the state. You’ll sit within a specialist team delivering initiatives aligned to the Queensland Flood Risk Management Framework, balancing structured delivery with stakeholder engagement across government and external partners.

- Manage end-to-end delivery of program-funded projects with defined timelines and outcomes
- Coordinate policy and program initiatives across agencies, local government and key stakeholders
- Contribute to and embed project governance frameworks and delivery standards
- Drive stakeholder engagement across a multi-agency environment
- Support development of tools, guidelines and initiatives that improve community resilience
- Maintain delivery momentum in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment
Core Experience
- Proven Project Manager with 5+ years delivering complex projects
- Experience working within government or highly regulated environments
- Strong understanding of structured delivery methodologies (PRINCE2, PMBOK or similar)
- Exposure to flood risk, disaster management, infrastructure or environmental programs
- Experience working with multi-agency or community-facing initiatives
- Stakeholder engagement across government and external organisations
- Ability to translate technical concepts into practical outcomes
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity while maintaining delivery focus
- Strong governance, reporting and delivery discipline
