The Opportunity
Our client is a leading Queensland Aged Care and Community Services provider with a workforce of over 3,000 employees. They are currently embarking on a 12-month Workforce Entitlements & Payroll Integrity project to ensure their systems, processes, and industrial instrument interpretations are best-in-class.
We are looking for a Project Manager with a solid background in HRIS and Payroll to lead this business-critical initiative. Based in their corporate office, you’ll enjoy a leafy workspace, free on-site parking, and the flexibility of a hybrid working model.
This isn't just a compliance exercise; it’s a strategic alignment project. You will be responsible for leading a comprehensive review of payroll data, system configurations, and Award interpretations to ensure 100% alignment with current legislative standards.

What you will do
- Project Governance: Own the end-to-end project roadmap, ensuring all milestones for the Integrity Review are met on time and within scope.
- Systems & Data Audit: Lead the analysis of payroll data and HRIS settings to identify and resolve any alignment gaps.
- Award Interpretation: Act as the bridge between Industrial Relations, Legal, and Payroll to ensure complex Aged Care and SCHADS Award rules are correctly applied within the system.
- Stakeholder Influence: Provide high-level reporting and recommendations to the Executive Steering Committee and Program Manager.
- Process Modernisation: Identify opportunities to automate and strengthen payroll controls to ensure long-term sustainability.
We are looking for a Project Manager who is comfortable "under the hood" of a payroll system. You might come from a Payroll Implementation, Audit, or Systems Accounting background. We need:
- Project Leadership: Proven experience managing complex, data-heavy projects within a large-scale workforce.
- Payroll & HRIS Expertise: Deep understanding of Australian payroll mechanics and experience with Tier 1 or Tier 2 systems (e.g., Aurion, Chris21, SAP, Workday).
- The "Forensic" Mindset: The ability to unpick complex data sets and translate Award clauses into technical system requirements.
- Sector Knowledge: Experience in Aged Care, Health, or 24/7 shift-based environments is highly advantageous.
