Practice Assistant

About the Role
We’re currently seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Practice Assistant to join a well-established professional services firm in Brisbane CBD on an initial 6-month contract. Supporting a collaborative team of Partners and accounting professionals, this role will suit someone who enjoys working behind the scenes, keeping operations running smoothly, and providing high-quality administrative support across a busy practice environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with prior professional services administration experience who is looking to further develop their career within a supportive and structured team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to Partners and the wider accounting team
  • Assist with monthly invoicing processes, fee drafting, and clearing tasks
  • Manage filing, scanning, archiving, mail handling, and document collation
  • Support database management and system clean-up projects ahead of internal transitions
  • Prepare and lodge documents using systems such as ASIC, ATO portals, and DocuSign 
  • Assist with travel bookings and coordination for the audit team
  • Complete credit card reconciliations and other ad hoc administrative duties
  • Support team meeting coordination and general operational assistance as required
About You To be successful in this role, you will bring:
  • Previous experience in an administrative, team support, corporate reception, or Practice Assistant role within a professional services environment
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Confidence learning new systems and databases quickly
  • A proactive and team-oriented attitude with a willingness to support where needed
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with ASIC, ATO systems, or financial documentation processes will be highly regarded
  • Availability to commence onboarding from Monday 18 May
This role would also suit someone currently studying at university while working, provided they can commit to standard full-time hours.
