Troocoo Government are currently supporting a key QLD State Government client with the recruitment of a PO5 Principal Engineer (Development Assessment).
This is an 8-week labour hire contract, supporting the team while a permanent recruitment process is underway. Based in Brisbane CBD, this role is paying $85.31 – $91.38 per hour + 12% super (dependent on experience).
About the Role
As the PO5 Principal Engineer, you will play a critical role in delivering development engineering outcomes that support housing supply, infrastructure delivery, and economic growth across Queensland.
This is a fast-paced, high-impact role where you will step into complex development matters, provide expert advice, and work across a range of stakeholders to support key projects.

What You’ll Do
As the PO5 Principal Engineer, you will (but not be limited to):
- Provide high-level development engineering advice on complex proposals
- Assess and manage development applications and infrastructure requirements
- Prepare clear, high-quality reports, briefings, and technical documentation
- Collaborate with internal teams, government stakeholders, and industry partners
- Support stakeholder engagement and negotiation processes
- Contribute to continuous improvement across systems and processes
- Work within a multidisciplinary team to enable development outcomes
- Strong experience in development engineering and/or infrastructure delivery
- Proven ability to provide high-level advice on complex development matters
- Strong analytical, research, and report writing skills
- A collaborative, customer-focused approach
- Well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Washington Accord or equivalent)
- Previous QLD State Government or Local Government experience is essential to enable immediate impact
