General Manager, Mental Health Services
Job description
About Youturn:
Youturn is a leading, community-driven not-for-profit with over 35 years of experience transforming lives across Australia.
From its beginnings on the Sunshine Coast supporting young people, Youturn now delivers a wide range of vital services to people of all ages, from mental health and suicide postvention programs to homelessness support and holistic care for families and children at risk of disconnection.
Youturn is more than a service provider, it is a catalyst for change, dedicated to creating meaningful, lasting impact in the lives of the communities it serves.
As it looks to the future, Youturn is committed to evolving, innovating, and staying deeply responsive to the changing needs of communities across Australia, ensuring its programs remain relevant, effective, and life-changing.
About the Role:
This is an outstanding opportunity for an accomplished leader to shape the future of mental health service delivery at Youturn.
As General Manager, Mental Health Services, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across a diverse portfolio of headspace centres, YES programs and associated mental health services.
Leading a complex, multi-site portfolio, you will drive service performance, financial sustainability and operational excellence while ensuring every service is safe, evidence-informed and delivers meaningful outcomes for the people and communities Youturn supports.
Working as a key member of the senior leadership team, you will foster a culture of accountability, innovation and continuous improvement, empowering high-performing teams to deliver exceptional care.
You will champion robust governance, quality, safeguarding and compliance, while contributing to organisational strategy and influencing the future direction of mental health services across the organisation.
The Ideal Candidate
You are an authentic and inspiring leader with a genuine passion for improving mental health outcomes and creating lasting impact for communities.
Combining strategic thinking with sound commercial and operational judgement, you have a proven ability to lead complex, geographically dispersed service portfolios and build collaborative, high-performing cultures.
Your senior leadership experience spans mental health, health, wellbeing or the broader human services sector, where you have successfully led multidisciplinary teams, driven organisational performance and delivered sustainable service improvements.
You are experienced navigating government-funded and commissioned service environments, with exposure to PHNs, headspace or comparable commissioning models highly regarded.
You have a strong track record of leading organisational change, developing workforce capability, managing significant budgets and building trusted relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
Above all, you are a values-driven leader who brings authenticity, resilience and vision, inspiring others while ensuring services continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the people they support.
