Troocoo is proud to partner with Container Exchange Queensland (COEX) to appoint a General Manager, Growth at a pivotal time of strategic evolution and enterprise-wide focus on sustainable expansion.

COEX is a not-for-profit organisation appointed by the Queensland Government to deliver the Containers for Change scheme. With a bold vision that "no container goes to waste", COEX is creating meaningful environmental, social and economic impact across the state.

This newly created leadership role is central to unlocking the next phase of growth, bridging strategy and execution, and shaping how the scheme expands, evolves and delivers long-term value.
 
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Executive General Manager, Network Delivery, the General Manager, Growth will provide enterprise leadership to define and deliver COEX's next phase of growth.
 
This is a highly visible and influential role, responsible for identifying and executing new site expansion opportunities, evolving the out-of-home offerings, and strengthening COEX's partner ecosystem to drive sustained scheme growth.
 
Sitting between day-to-day operations and the Executive Leadership Team, you will play a critical role in lifting enterprise capability and ensuring COEX's vision for growth, translates to through strategy into tangible outcomes.
 
You will lead a multi-disciplinary function across acquisition and account management, while working cross-functionally and externally to bring new ideas, partnerships and growth pathways to life.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and execution of COEX's enterprise growth strategy, with a strong focus on new site expansion and partner development.
  • Identify, prioritise, and deliver on growth initiatives, from transformational new offerings through to optimisation of existing programs.
  • Build and influence senior and executive relationships across corporate partners, community organisations and industry bodies.
  • Strengthen and evolve COEX's partnership approach to unlock new commercial and community opportunities.
  • Provide strategic insights and reporting to the Board, CEO and Executive, linking strategy to performance measurement and growth outcomes.
  • Drive a strong commercial lens across all initiatives, ensuring solutions are viable, scalable and aligned to KPIs.
  • Champion critical analysis and cross-functional collaboration to deliver enterprise-wide growth priorities.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team across acquisition and account management, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to organisational strategy, ensuring growth opportunities and risks inform decision making.
 
About You
You are an experienced senior leader with a track record of delivering growth in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
 
You bring:
  • Proven experience shaping and executing enterprise-wide growth strategies, ideally across operational expansion environments, partnerships or new market offerings.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to assess viability, cost and long-term value of solutions.
  • Experience operating in regulated or governance-heavy environments.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with confidence influencing C-suite, Board and government stakeholders.
  • A consultative, relationship-led approach with the ability to cut through complexity and drive outcomes.
  • Experience leading through transformation, whether scaling, optimising or resetting business models.
  • A values-led leadership style, with the ability to uplift, stabilise and inspire teams.
