We are currently recruiting for an experienced Financial Accountant to join a values‑driven, not‑for‑profit organisation. This is a newly created opportunity, reporting to the Financial Controller and leading a small team. Our client is seeking someone that is comfortable operating in complex environments, analytically capable and solutions-focused.

About the Role

Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Coordinating statutory reporting and supporting external compliance requirements
- Maintaining strong financial controls, governance and balance sheet integrity
- Managing complex accounting areas including journals, FBT, payroll and inter‑entity reconciliations
- Partnering with FP&A to support effective budgeting, forecasting and planning
- Driving simplification and continuous improvement across accounting processes and systems
- Improving efficiency by reducing manual processing and reporting delays
- Leading and developing a small team while building strong relationships with stakeholders and auditors
Some of the skills and experience you will bring to this position will include:
- CA or CPA qualification with a relevant tertiary degree
- Proven experience in senior financial accounting roles
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards, internal controls and governance requirements
- Experience simplifying or improving accounting structures and processes
- Exposure to the not‑for‑profit or community services sector highly regarded
- Demonstrated people leadership or team supervision experience
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- A practical, solutions‑focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
