Finance Business Partner

Job description

We are looking to find a commercially minded Finance Business Partner to join a large, values-driven organisation in their high-performing FP&A team.

This is a genuine partnering role; not a back-office function. You will work directly alongside operational leaders, helping them understand their numbers, make better decisions, and drive performance. If you want a finance role where your insights actually land, this is it.

About the Role

This position plays a critical role requiring a specific combination of technical capability, commercial finance experience, and analytical skill set.

Key responsibilities of the role include:
  • Partnering with operational leaders to provide financial insights, KPI reporting, performance analysis, financial modelling and decision support across diverse service areas.
  • Supporting managers to improve financial performance through revenue optimisation, cost management, forecasting and commercial decision-making.
  • Developing business cases for capital and operational initiatives, including financial modelling, risk assessment, scenario analysis and benefits tracking.
  • Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and reforecasts, ensuring alignment with operational objectives and strategic priorities.
  • Delivering accurate and insightful management reporting, including variance analysis, trend identification and performance commentary for senior stakeholders.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes, systems and reporting to enhance efficiency and business understanding.
  • Assisting with audit requirements, project-based work and ad hoc financial analysis as required.
About you

Some of the skills and experience you will bring to this position will include:

  • At least 3 years' experience in FP&A, business partnering or management accounting.
  • Solid grounding in Australian accounting standards (AASB) and strong Excel skills.
  • A genuine ability to build relationships and communicate financial concepts to non-finance audiences.
  • Strong modelling, forecasting and analytical skills and the confidence to back your insights.
  • The ability to juggle competing priorities and deliver quality work to tight deadlines.
  • A tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, business or a related discipline plus CPA, CA or CIMA (or working towards).
  • Experience in aged care, health, or another highly regulated industry would be desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with Epicor or a comparable enterprise finance system
