We are seeking an experienced Director of Nursing for a short term contract at Bedourie in remote Queensland.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced rural and remote nurse to provide essential primary healthcare to the local community and surrounding rural properties.

The Role

• Position: Director of Nursing
• Location: Bedourie, QLD
• Contract: 7 September – 25 September 2026
• Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm
• On-call/recall: After hours and weekends
• Community-based Primary Health Clinic
• No inpatient beds
• Administration and operational support
• Support from Queensland Ambulance Service
• Emergency care supported by the Royal Flying Doctor Service

This is a highly autonomous position and is ideally suited to a nurse with strong Remote Area Nursing experience.

About You Essential:

• Current AHPRA registration
• Previous Queensland Health experience
• Strong Rural & Remote nursing experience
• Previous senior nursing/leadership experience
• Remote Area Nursing experience
• Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills
• Ability to work independently and confidently
• Strong communication and community engagement skills
• Travel and Accommodation | Support Provided.
