About our client
Our client is a world leader in the utilities industry specializing in renewables and business energy solutions. Due to continued growth they are looking to strengthen their team with the addition of a skilled AWS Data Engineer.

The role
The Data Engineer (AWS) is responsible for designing and implementing data pipelines, data catalogues, data models and data controls and provide subject matter expertise on data management technologies to challenge and improve solutions.

Responsibilities:
  • Uses Python and AWS ‘big data’ technologies to build the infrastructure required to support data pipelines across a wide variety of data sources.
  • Streamlines and automates the management & control of data for analytical processes.
  • Proactively develops and improves the SQL, data modelling and data warehousing capability in the data engineering team.
  • Assembles large and complex data sets to meet business requirements.
  • Develops transformation processes and data models to ingest from a variety of data sources and produces data products to support stakeholders across the business.
  • Works in a team with data architects and data engineers to enhance the data lake, data warehousing and data analytics capabilities
  • Assists with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
  • Is responsible for the operational support of data management tools and data solutions.
The Successful candidate
  • Highly experienced within the AWS Cloud environment and data services such as AWS S3, AWS EC2, AWS Kinesis, AWS Glue, AWS Athena and products such as Snowflake and Matillion;
  • Hands on experience with programming in Python and working with BI and visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI);
  • Strong communicator and able to present and communicate complex technical issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders (including senior management);
