Catering Manager / Head Chef

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Catering Manager / Head Chef to lead kitchen operations within a residential aged care setting in Maryborough.

This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for delivering high-quality, nutritious meals that support the health and wellbeing of residents, while ensuring compliance with aged care and food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise the catering/kitchen team to maintain high standards of food preparation and service
  • Plan and deliver seasonal, nutritious menus aligned with aged care dietary requirements
  • Ensure compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards, food safety, and HACCP
  • Engage with residents to understand preferences and enhance the dining experience
  • Manage day-to-day kitchen operations including rostering, stock control, budgeting, and training
Skills & Experience
  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or higher)
  • Current Food Safety Certificate (essential)
  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience as a Head Chef / Catering Manager / Chef in Charge
  • Experience in aged care, healthcare, or large-scale catering highly regarded
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Knowledge of texture-modified diets and nutritional requirements in aged care
  • Current NDIS Check (or willingness to obtain)
