TROOCOO is currently seeking a Principal Traction Power Engineer to join our client’s team located in Sydney.
  
Our client is a global multi-discipline consultancy that has a diverse industry focus in sectors including Advanced Technologies, Renewables, Mining, Rail, Power, Water and Infrastructure supporting both government and private sectors.
 
Due to a significant increase in workload our client is looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer with Traction experience.
  
The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to:
  • Providing technical input and leadership into projects such as: Developing, revising, testing and analyzing computer-based traction power load flow and fault studies.
  • Identify and manage risk of the project and adhere to company policy
  • Providing technical, professional and commercial oversight for engineering works.
  • Reporting to the team leader.
  • Leading and training graduates and junior engineers.
  • Working in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to internal cross discipline teams, clients, energy providers and regulators.
  • Ability to produce or oversee tenders as an when required.
  • Ensuring projects are deliver in full on time and on budget.
The successful candidate will have:
  • Degree in engineering or equivalent engineering qualification in relevant field which is acceptable for corporate membership of Engineers Australia.
  • CPEng & NER Preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience as a power system engineer with exposure to:
    • Substation construction.
    • Electrified rail transit.
    • Both AC & DC Systems preferred.
  • Previous experience with Sydney rail projects is a must.
  • Stipulating or integrating with control systems in an HV substations.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • A strong sense of urgency for solving complex problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
