About the role:
The General Manager Motor Assessing will be accountable for strategically and operationally, leading the Motor Assessing management team and driving world’s best practice initiatives.  This is a pivotal appointment for the organisation where you will need to ensure that the Auto & General’s Motor Assessing team is market leading in their process and systems efficiency, cost containment, ease of doing business and customer care. The General Manager will drive the effective and efficient delivery of the Motor Assessing functions of the Auto & General business, distributed through Direct brands, White label and Aggregation partnership businesses, with a focus on enhancing the customer experience.

You will be required to build a performance and accountability leadership culture and instill the disciplines and operating rhythm necessary to develop scalable, sustainable delivery of services in the Australian market.  This needs to be achieved whilst also creating an engaged contracted repair network, delivering best in class customer outcomes and ensuring that the motor repair assessing function delivers suitable repair cost outcomes for the Auto & General motor insurance business.

About you:
To be considered for this opportunity you will need to demonstrate experience in a General Management role including accountability for significant financial levers combined with a high degree of commercial acumen and people responsibility for large teams. You will also have a track record of success driving performance through accountability for results in a high-performance culture. The ability to think strategically as well as a deep understanding of business processes, operational challenges and drivers will be critical in this key appointment. It’s also important that you have a strong understanding of claims and have been a senior leader previously with a background in assessing in a large complex organisation.
