About the organisation:
A.P Eagers Limited (APE) is an ASX listed company with a market capitalisation in excess of $1.6 billion with a strong track record of profit growth and increasing shareholder returns.
APE currently has approximately 5% of the new car market and plans to significantly increase its market share over the next five to seven years through organic growth and acquisitions. Combined, the businesses generate in excess of $4 billion of sales across a range of National car and truck dealerships employing more than 4,000 people.

About the role:
The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is a newly created appointment within the group and will be a key member of the APE Executive Leadership Team (ELT). The CIO will assume the lead role in providing strategic leadership, management and guidance across the APE portfolio to ensure the governance of the information technology strategic plan, security, policies and operating models. The role will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the Information Technology team Nationally and is a critical appointment for the organisation to achieve its growth plans. 

There will be approximately 40-people reporting into the role across Queensland and throughout several National locations. The role requires strong focus on people leadership and development of the skills and abilities within the organisation.  

About you:
To be considered for this opportunity you will need to demonstrate experience in a strategic senior leadership role with a broad level of technical expertise to ensure that information technology adds the maximum value to APE to facilitate the continued success of the business. You will also have a track record of successfully driving performance through accountability for results in a high-performance culture. The ability to think strategically as well as a deep understanding of business processes, operational challenges and drivers will be critical in this executive appointment.

You will have prior experience of working with vendors and achieving successful outcomes by blending in house capability with external third parties to achieve the best possible outcomes for the organisation. Operational excellence combined with strategic development and project delivery will mean that you can provide APE with a consistent and developing environment that will provide both a combined centralised and decentralised services model.
